Open Source Firmware @HPE

Main Room,

We will cover during this talk the status of Open Source Firmware solutions on HPE platforms (including coverage of our GXP BMC asic internals). We will run demos of them, and cover the impact of supporting multiple CPU architecture with potentially the same firmware stack.

The GXP Asic is a Cortex A9 single core processor internally developed at HPE and used within our global ProLiant family. It has been dedicated to our iLO proprietary firmware stack and we will cover our journey to upstream full support of the ASIC within the linux kernel.

In parallel we will initiate discussion about DC-SCM form factor, a dedicated form factor to control planes which might have impact on Open Source Firmware architecture.
